With the ability to walk anywhere as long as there is no crop or fencing, you are free to discover rolling hills and deep valleys, which in the spring time are covered in wild flowers of every colour.
The Natural Parque has amazingly diverse wildlife, ranging from more than 200 bird species to the powerful wild boar. In early summer, you can see the stork nests and brilliantly plumaged bee-eaters and in late September/ early October bird watchers gather in Sagres for the Bird-watching Festival as the whole area becomes a strategic position from which to experience the extensive Autumn migration.
Throughout the year you can take a trip to harbour to watch the catch come in - huge fish with eyes as big as saucers, octopus with their slowly unfurling tentacles and perhaps a small shark from far out at sea.
Afterwards, visit the café above to watch the fish auction whilst drinking delicious hot coffee and treating yourself to a ridiculously sweet cake .
By car we are just 20 minutes from the cosmopolitan City of Lagos, 5 minutes from the buzzing surf resort of Sagres and 15 mins from sleepy Carrapateira where you can check out the incredible Amado & Bordeira beaches.
We would be delighted to help you with the arrangement of activities and equipment hire.
