With sea on two sides, land on one, the cooking typical of Vila do Bispo reflects this dual influence in its local dishes.  Fish, Seafood, Meat as well as many rice based dishes always on the menus in the many restaurants.

Fish & seafood in Vila do Bispo is always tempting, such as freshly caught sea bream & swordfish, barnacles and whelks harvested from the rocks or the lobsters brought in by the boats at dawn.

Local specialities include seafood soups, pork ribs and slices, portuguese steaks and "cataplana"clams.

Local produced honey cake, fig pastries, marzipan and pasteis de nata (cream tarts) are offered to those who appreciate something sweet.
